Well, i found this article really precious and timely to those engaged in resistance of some kind.
Lisa’s ministry made me think of my people’s state of spiritual resistance, currently lit up throughout Oromia, including the Diaspora. Those in the US, particularly Minneapolis; Australia, and Canada understand what spiritual resistance is, not to mention those at home and in Europe–particularly, in Germany, Sweden, Norway and Amsterdam.
I like the metaphor of the River Flowing, like that Heraclitus’s ‘Everything Flows–the panta rei!
In resistance, there can be no distance–moral or spiritual! The resister swims up the stream, particularly the spiritual resister! Wading in the flow, he cannot remain untouched by water. His move is against every tidal wave ebbing nonstop.
For the resister, the move away from is the move towards! He abhors, hates because his heart is tender, soft and longing for love! He is at war because peace for him an unended quest ever! He has waged love and peace, and therefore, in a spiritual resistance, there is no blast, no blood!
Only the irresistible flow takes us there to the peaceful world of love, compassion, and where justice prevail. There, only a thoughtful and visionary captain shall arrive, and lead there his companions– he who can roam the boat skillfully and with no a backsliding heart, despite all waves.
God bless you Lisa, and God bless us all!
